Cheryl Key — President
Cheryl joined the ASMC board again in 2014. Cheryl was a charter member of the ASMC board when the organization formed. Cheryl has also been performing with ASMC since 1990. Cheryl has also performed with, served on the board, and was President of the Austin Civic Chorus Board of Directors. She is currently employed at BAE Systems as a Systems Engineering Manager.

Pat Stewart — Vice President
Pat joined the ASMC Board in 2009, after attending at least three years of performances. Previous and current volunteer experiences include working with the youth program at her church, United Methodist Women, Foundation for the Homeless, and Healthy Families Travis County. She is a member of the fantastic St. John’s United Methodist Church choir. She has been employed by the Lower Colorado River Authority for more than 25 years. In her spare time she loves to travel.

Jennifer Dormer — Secretary/Treasurer
Jennifer has been involved with the summer musical since 2003. She first appeared on stage with ASMC as an actress and has been Stage Manager since 2009. She offers her accounting, organizational, and management skills to the group to assist with all phases of planning for the performances. She has also been involved with Executive Women in Texas Government, Boy Scouts of America and the Hays Youth Soccer Association so has experience with other non-profit organizations.

Alexandra Russo — Publicity
Alexandra has been acting, dancing, singing, and playing music her whole life. She received several scholarships for acting and graduated with her degree in Theatre and Dance from the University of Texas. She has performed on many Austin stages over the years, and loves seeing children light up at ASMC shows. Although Alexandra loves performing, her passion lies in using the Arts as a spring board for community building and education, and believes every child should have the chance to experience and learn through Art education. Current volunteer jobs include Meals on Wheels and Mobile Loaves and Fishes as well as volunteering at maternity homes and girls homes. In her day life, Alexandra is a full time foster mom.

Lauris Blackwell — Script/Event Coordinator
This is Lauris’ first year on the Board of Directors for Austin Summer Musical forChildren. She has been teaching or performing professionally in theatre in New York and now Texas for over thirty years. She has been performing with ASMC since 2004. She has been a performer and Board member of River City Pops and has performed and choreographed with Natchez Opera Festival, Waco Children’s Theatre, Temple Civic Theatre, and is the Choreographer and Assistant Director for Buzz Productions. She is an instructor and choreographer at Shirley McPhail School of Dance and a teacher for Hillcrest Baptist Church, Mother’s Day Out Program.

Debbie Touchet — Member At Large
Debbie has been on the ASMC Board of Directors since 2000 and Assistant Director since 2001. She has performed with Austin Civic Chorus, Texas Consortium, Austin Singers, River City Pops, and Austin Harmony Chorus. She has served on the board as Publicity/Fundraising Chair, Communication Chair, and Sets Coordinator with various organizations and was Assistant to the Director of Austin Singers. She has performed for ASMC since 1998. She currently works for Sonic Healthcare Systems, USA as Content Developer for Implementations.

Stephen Touchet — Member At Large
Stephen has a Bachelors of Science in Education from Texas State University, SanMarcos and has been teaching in public schools since 1996. His first 5 years were teaching Kindergarten through 12th grade in Granger Independent School District. From 2000 to 2009, Stephen has been teaching Kindergarten through 5th grade at Gattis Elementary in Round Rock, Texas. He is currently teaching elementary music at Kathy Caraway Elementary in Round Rock ISD. Stephen has served on the board of directors for ASMC since 1999. In addition to the summer musicals, he has performed with the Austin Singers and the River City Pops.
