Captain Fabulous — Scott Poppaw Scott is thrilled to be making his debut as Captain Fabulous, with the Austin Summer Musical for Children and feels privileged to perform with such a talented groups of professionals! Scott has been actively involved in Austin's theater community for many years as an actor, singer and sign language interpreter. Most recent performances include: The Pharaoh and Trey in The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told at The City Theater, Season 21 with The Capital City Men's Chorus, and for the past few years, he has performed in many of the Zilker Summer Musicals out in Zilker Park. Scott is very pleased to be able to share the stage again with his partner David...Avast, me hearties! Welcome aboard and enjoy the show! |

Salty Sam — Cheryl Key This is Cheryl's 21st consecutive Summer Musical for Children. Cheryl has enjoyed playing many characters through the years including: a witch, chimney sweep, Sesame Street kid, court page, Flounder, Mouseketeer, White Rabbit (twice), pig Virginia Hamm, CiCi Mouse, Mary (who had a little lion), Flower the skunk, Eenie Mouse, Billie, Where, CD, Dish, Gomer Goat and Mo. Cheryl is a member of the Austin Civic Chorus. When Cheryl is not singing, she is a System Engineer at BAE SYSTEMS. |

Dexter Deckswabber — David Neilsen David is fastidiously polishing up his acting abilities to play Dexter Deckswabber. A pirate who cannot talk like a pirate and is constantly cleaning? Some would say this is typecasting. Dexter would just say 'cleanliness is next to happiness'. This is David's 4th show with ASMC. He sings with the Capital City Men's Chorus and has performed with River City Pops and Second Youth Family Theatre. David is enjoying being first mate to his real life Captain Fabulous, Scott. |

Poopdeck Pete — Greg Stoll Ahoy! Yo, ho, ho... A pirate's life for Greg! Arrrrr! By day, he works with landlubbers at National Instruments. By night, he enjoys spending shore leave with friends and family. This is his fifth year with ASMC. Enjoy the show ye guppies and minnows! |

Kyle — Andrew Engroff Andrew is no stranger to the stage, having performed in 17 shows (mostly musicals) over his 8 years of high school and college. After a 6 year break from the world of theater, he is glad to return by joining ASMC for the first time. Like his character, Andrew enjoys football (American), football (soccer), and track. Unlike his character, he also loves music, board games, and video games! |

Marcus — Stephen Touchet Mr. Touchet will be in his 11th performance with ASMC. He has been the Music Director since 2002, and has been the Board Chair since 2003. In addition to the summer musicals, Mr. Touchet has also volunteered with the Austin Singers and the River City Pops. Mr. Touchet is currently teaching at Gattis Elementary in Round Rock. |

LeeAnn — Debbie Touchet Debbie loves to play Leeann who rhymes whether in sand, pasture or cave she climbs. In shows gone past she played many a part. You could say the show has stolen her heart. Although she loves to sing and dance, she also hangs with hubby, dogs and plants. When she's not involved in making rain at Sonic Healthcare she does train. She hopes you have as much fun at the show as she and her cast members do, Yo Ho! |

Taylor — Lauris Blackwell Lauris is in her fourth year choreographing and performing with ASMC. She has been teaching or performing theatre in New York, and now Texas, for over twenty years. When not working with ASMC, she is the Director of the ASCC at Mathews Elementary, is the Director of the International Dance Troupe at Mathews and teaches musical theater classes at a dance studio. She is also a member of River City Pops and the VP of Operations. Her husband says that when she is with children, she's with her own age group! |

Longhorn — Jennifer McKenna This is Jennifer's debut with the ASMC and couldn't be more excited to be doing a show, "you know, for kids". She has been involved in Austin theatre for over 10 years as an actor, singer, dancer, and never tires of the opportunity to reveal the "lie that tells the truth" whether that be in song, dance or lyric poem! Technodillo — Helen McGlynn Nooner Technically speaking, after a six year absence, this is Helen's fifth outing with the Austin Summer Musical for Children. She has played a Vine Person, a sheep, a goat, and a pirate in the past. Maybe the word pirate in this year's title drew her in! No, in reality, is the love of performing for the great families of Austin! While she is not in her lab as the Technodillo, Helen enjoys life with her family of 2 kids, Natalie and Christopher and her husband, Roger as well as 2 kooky cats, as well as cocker spaniel Amber, golden retriever Romeo, and one 8 year old goldfish! Besides acting in plays, Helen is active in her children's schools and her neighborhood association, and enjoys voice-over, reality tv, gardening, traveling, and going to the gym doing especially dance classes. Helen's role model is Betty White, an actress who is involved in animal causes. |

Singing Cactus — Alexandra Russo Alexandra has been involved with ASCM since 2005 and is excited to be back with this prickly part! Studying the Arts from an early age, she went onto continue her studies receiving several scholarships for acting and graduated with her BA in Theatre and Dance from the University of Texas. She has performed on many Austin stages over the years, with groups that include Loaded Gun Theory, WOBCP, RCP, Frontera Fest, and the Cohen New Works Festival. Although Alexandra loves performing,her passion lies in using the Arts as a spring board for community building and education, In her daylife, Alexandra works for a property management company, enjoyes seranading clients with her singing telegram business and is addicted to shaved ice. |

Jackalope — Pat Stewart Pat recently joined the ASMC Board in 2009 after attending at least three years of performances. Previous and current volunteer experiences include working with the youth program at her church, Girls Scouts, Foundation for the Homeless, and Capital Area Food Bank. She is currently employed by the Lower Colorado River Authority where she enjoys the privilege of being on the United Charities and Employee Club Boards. In her spare time she loves to travel. |

Zach Knox — Accompanist This is Zach's 2nd year twinkling the ivories for ASMC. Since graduating from Southwestern University in 2005, Zach has performed in numerous local musical groups, including River City Pops (band leader), local swingsters the Vintage 15, and blue-eyed funksters the Bus Stop Stallions, who just returned to Texas from a successful West Coast tour. This is Zach's 21st year of playing the piano, despite his debilitating passion for dinosaurs. |

John "AJ" Dormer — Technical Manager John Dormer has returned for his eighth year with ASMC. As Stage Manager, he's had a few shows under his belt in another life, and is very happy with the opportunity to work with the company in this capacity. The show's lighting is also his responsibility. John works as an IT professional at Hoover's Online, a Dun and Bradstreet company. His hobbies include pointing telescopes at things that go zipping by in the night sky. |

Jennifer Dormer — Stage Manager Jennifer has been with ASMC since 2003. She has been on stage as a sheep, off stage as an usher, back stage as crew, assistant stage manager and this will be her first year as stage manager. If anything goes wrong...tis she be walking the plank...Argh. She is employed by the Department of Aging and Disability Services as a Lead Accountant in the Accounts Payable Department. She is the Treasurer for the Executive Women in Texas Government, the Advancement Chair for the Boy Scout Troop 967, and attends college at St. Edward's University. When she is not working, schooling, volunteering, or running her children around, she enjoys spending quiet time with her husband John Dormer, and 2 children Kevin and Emily. |

Kris Godfrey — Blocking Assistant Kris has returned for her seventh year with ASMC. This is her third year as Blocking Assistant which duties include notation of direction, blocking and choreography notes. She has been a part of the company as stage crew for all seven years, and has reveled in such tasks as lederhosen changing, air horn blasting, drop flying, and wheel catching. Her hobbies include caring for her husband Gary, corgi animal care, babysitting, traveling and antique collecting. |
